In our rapidly digitising online age, the real and virtual worlds blur together more and more every day. With its futuristic honeycomb design and deeply immersive experience, the Serbia Pavilion at Expo 2020 gives us a dazzling preview of the hyper-virtual world of tomorrow. The pavilion experience combines visionary holographic and virtual-reality exhibits with a panoramic tour of Serbia’s heritage. Create your own digital avatar and explore the nation’s Neolithic Vinča culture, get up close and personal with legendary Serbian innovators such as Nikola Tesla, survey Serbian panoramas and much more.

Futuristic and monolithic

The Serbia Pavilion resembles a sharp white crystal jutting high into the sky. The exterior of the structure is composed of flat triangular surfaces, with glowing white edges which grow in size as they climb toward a high, blade-like point. The entire building pitches at an angle, creating an overhang above an entry courtyard. Digital lights adorn the pavilion’s underside, adding to the futuristic feel.
