Jorge Recharte, Ph.D., President Instituto de Montaña, non-profit mountain institute working on the interphase of research and action. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Cornell University. He was head of the Andes Program of The Mountain Institute between 1997 and 2019. Prior to this position he headed the graduate research program Mountain Societies and Sustainable Development at the Latin America Faculty of Social Sciences. He was also an associate researcher at the International Potato Center where he developed participatory research methodologies in agriculture. He has been project leader of several climate change adaptation projects in the Andes region.
