Aisha Alowais is currently involved with the UAE Meteor Monitoring Network project, a unique system to observe and detect meteors in the UAE sky. She also works on computer vision and object detection algorithms to reduce the Big Data coming from the UAEMMN towers. She is also responsible for developing a UAV Meteorite Detection algorithm using Artificial Intelligence to distinguish meteorites from terrestrial rocks. Alowais is also collaborating with the Space Weather and Ionosphere laboratory at the Academy in order to develop Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to predict ionospheric scintillation. Moreover, she has multiple publications, ranging from SCOPUS-indexed journal articles, conference proceedings, as well as local and global magazines.
