International Universal Health Coverage Day
Every year on 12 December, the world celebrates International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC), which is based on the principle that everyone, everywhere should have access to quality essential health services without suffering financial hardship. Co-curated with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, and the World Health Organisation (WHO), Expo 2020 has dedicated a full day to highlighting key milestones in the journey towards UHC. As one of many international meetings organised during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's UHC theme is "Leave No One's Health Behind: Invest in health systems for all".
