Shared Heritage, Sustainable Future

The Indian Ocean is the world’s third largest body of water and is fast becoming a geopolitical centre, expected to host nearly half of the world’s population by 2050. This event provides an unparalleled opportunity to channel common and diverse interests around the blue economy, including marine logistics, tourism, and fisheries into building relationships, aligning regulations and developing sustainable infrastructure. It also provides an opportunity for the UAE to take stock of progress made during its presidency and shared lessons learned with other international cooperation partners around the Indian Ocean.
