At The Opportunity Pavilion, you will embark on a globe-spanning “Mission Possible” to help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, showing how everyone has the power to make a difference.

From your “mission briefing” onward, you will connect with three inspiring people in their quests to unlock opportunity. They will take you to their communities in the UAE, Peru, and Zanzibar and – through storytelling and gameplay – you will learn how small actions have a big impact.

This striking pavilion consists of a low-slung, earth-toned brick façade topped with a dozen translucent mesh and metal structures that resemble boxy clouds carefully balanced on one another. It builds on the rich urban history of the plaza and its universal significance as a place for people to connect.

At Expo 2020, sustainability is an urgent, attainable reality, and Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion is the proof. Both immersive exhibition space and exemplar of environmental self-sufficiency, Terra is a pioneering piece of architecture that pushes the limits of renewable design.

The pavilion’s 130-metre-wide solar canopy – so vast that you could park 10 city buses head-to-tail atop it – converts sunshine into electricity for the exhibits below. Artfully funnelled natural light and local plant species, together with technologies that can reduce water consumption by 75 per cent, show the way to a sustainable future.

Terra is a super-sized marvel of forward-thinking design. In February 1968, this nation's founding fathers met under a desert tent and shared an idea that would turn into something truly great: the United Arab Emirates. Animated by this spirit of collaboration, The Good Place by Expo Live is an exhibition space dedicated to showcasing human potential and those who work to advance it – through the Expo Live innovation and partnership programme and beyond.

With a design inspired by the tent where the UAE was conceived, the pavilion showcases social innovations conceived to improve our lives. Come and meet ordinary people doing extraordinary things – and be inspired to join our global community.

Designed by renowned Emirati architect Ahmad Abdulrahman Bukhash, The Good Place’s structure expands the Bedouin tent shape into an elegant white canopy, folded with seven origami-like angles on each side to join at a tall peak. The tent seems to float over a clean, glass box.

The many islands of the Philippines are a coral lover’s paradise, home to 26,000 square kilometres of biodiverse reefs. Now, you can take your own “dive” through the nation’s aquatic wonderlands at the Philippines Pavilion, an imaginative coral village packed with artistic wonders and a powerful message about safeguarding marine life.

The pavilion’s bold, free-flowing design simulates the coral ecosystem, while light filtering and other effects lend it all a magically oceanic feel.

Taking inspiration from the island nation’s pristine coral reefs, the Philippines Pavilion is a multi-level collection of stacked, open-air mesh structures that curve around palm trees, tropical gardens and small exhibit areas. The pavilion’s many coral-like formations, which resemble huge, rounded, open-topped containers, are made from a lattice of grey graphite wire. The structures layer on top of each other in irregular shapes, creating a free-flowing space full of shaded passages, projected digital exhibitions and gardens to explore.
