With a luminous design that draws inspiration from the circuitry that powers it, the Estonia Pavilion shares the Baltic nation’s digital innovations with Expo 2020.

Inside, visitors can tour a futuristic model e-classroom and walk beneath illuminated data “clouds” based on the country’s X-Road online infrastructure – but it’s not all digital here. You can also taste Nordic-inspired Estonian cuisine at the on-site restaurant.

Sanda Ojiambo of Kenya was appointed CEO & Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in June 2020. As the world grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Ojiambo launched an ambitious new UN Global Compact strategy to accelerate and scale the global collective impact of business by upholding the Ten Principles and delivering the Sustainable Development Goals through accountable companies and ecosystems that enable change. During her tenure she has also promoted stronger business engagement with UN partners to deliver and finance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Ms. Ojiambo brings to the UN Global Compact more than 20 years’ experience in the public, multilateral and private sectors.

Paul Polman works to accelerate action by business to tackle climate change and inequality. As CEO of Unilever (2009-2019), he demonstrated that a long-term, multi-stakeholder model goes hand-in-hand with excellent financial performance. Paul was a member of the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Panel which developed the Sustainable Development Goals.
Paul’s new book, “Net Positive”, is a call to arms to courageous business leaders, setting out how to build net positive companies which profit by fixing the world’s problems rather than creating them. He Chairs IMAGINE, a social venture dedicated to systems change, and Saïd Business School, and he is Vice-Chair of the UN Global Compact as well as a B Team Leader. Paul is Honorary Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce, which he led for two years.

Chalhoub began his career in 1979 when he decided to become involved in the realisation of his father, Michel Chalhoub’s vision to build a bridge between the East and West and be the ambassador of luxury lifestyle in the Middle East. In 1990, he created a regional distribution platform in the Jebel Ali Free zone with Fendi, L’Oréal, Dior Parfums and Puig. Since 2000 he has developed the retail network of the Group from a few stores to over 600 stores with local implementation in 14 countries. He has been instrumental in guiding the development of a sustainability strategy for the Group,
with a focus on People, Partners, Planet and Community Giving through Chalhoub Impact. Mr. Chalhoub is a member of board of the UN Global Compact and has led the French Business Council as well.

Mentoring is a powerful tool that creates impact and growth for both mentor and mentee. Designed to help women build and scale their businesses, UN Women and NAMA Women Advancement will inaugurate their mentoring programme for UAE-based women entrepreneurs from Expo 2020. 

In celebration of it’s launch, four experienced entrepreneurs will speak about their experiences and how mentoring has helped grow their businesses. There will also be an opportunity for knowledge sharing and audience interaction.
