Small Steps, Big Leaps: Solutions for Sustainable Impact
The SDGs are an urgent call for action by all countries to tackle global inequities in the spirit of partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go together with improving health and education, reducing inequality and spurring economic growth, while tackling climate change. Promoting sustainable industries, creating localized solutions and investing in innovation, are important ways to facilitate sustainable development – which has been impacted in recent years. Curating a platform for cross pollination of localized solutions, innovations and ideas that can inspire individuals to learn from each other will help in building newer and more impactful interventions. This event will showcase select, best practices from Expo 2020’s Global Best Practice Programme, that are providing tangible solutions to global and local challenges. These projects were handpicked by thought leaders – including representatives from the Bureau International des Expositions, the University of Cambridge, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank, UN-Habitat, UN-Water amongst others. Join the forum to exchange ideas, participate in solution-driven discussions and hear changemakers from across the world present ideas embedded within thematic areas - inclusive and sustainable service delivery, livelihoods and enterprise development, resilient habitats, social development, and others.
