Chile is a country of contrasts, from the nearly rainless Atacama Desert to the fertile farmlands that make the nation one of the world’s leading food exporters. At the Chile Pavilion, get a delicious taste of its agricultural bounty while exploring the country’s diverse peoples and landscapes. With a design inspired by traditional Chilean architecture, the pavilion offers a market-style retail area, as well as an alley of high-definition screens that showcase Chile’s natural wonders, sustainable tourism destinations and more. Venture deeper inside to find the sampling area, where you can taste the some of the country’s amazing produce.

The Chile pavilion modern structure, as fresh and vibrant as the gourmet selection of Chilean fruits that await inside, is embellished with wide windows and a bright white sloping roof. The patterns, colors and textures used are guided by the natural barriers that protect the country; deserts, ocean, mountains and the glaciers.

From its people to its sweeping terrain, Canada is a nation of astounding diversity. With its circular design based on the drum, an instrument found across all the world’s cultures, the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2020 celebrates the unity of its diverse inhabitants, as well as their bright shared future.

From outside, the pavilion impresses with its encircling wooden lattice, which evokes Canada’s natural landscapes while paying homage to the geometry of Islamic mashrabiya screens. But the wonder truly begins within, as an immersive theatre experience takes you on a stirring tour of Canada’s land, peoples and technological innovations.

The Canada Pavilion evokes the shape of a drum for its commanding, elegant Expo pavilion. Hundreds of pieces of Canadian lumber form a round lattice of diamond-like shapes that pays homage to the captivating geometry of Arabic mashrabiya screens. The massive disc seems to hover weightless over the pavilion’s central core, which is also decorated with wood.

Every winter, millions of migrating black and orange Monarch butterflies set the forests of Central Mexico ablaze with colour. The Mexico Pavilion takes this graceful creature and a rainbow of iconic Mexican flowers, as inspiration for a symbolic and vivid presentation of the country’s flourishing creativity and innovation. Explore rich multimedia displays that highlight how the act of pollination fosters exciting new growth in nature, gastronomy and business. Under the title “New Perspectives”, the Women’s World Majlis programme invites you to recognise a fundamental principle: when women thrive, humanity thrives.

The programme highlights the impact women have made on society and shines a light on their often forgotten contributions. By shifting perspectives, we embrace the infinite approaches to a more balanced world.

A common vision for a unique collaboration; sustainable development goals and aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous world cannot be achieved without gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Sharing this vision, Expo 2020 Dubai and Cartier celebrate women changemakers around the globe, asserting our conviction that innovative collaboration between the private sector, civil society and committed individuals is the pathway to meaningful change.

Hosted by Societe Generale, under its commitment to the Global Compact UAE and the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), this panel discussion addresses the challenges, best practices, research and insights into women-owned businesses by featuring experienced leaders and partners from the region.

Jen Blandos, entrepreneurship advisor at UN Women and CEO of Female Fusion, alongside Walid Faza, from MSA Capital, talk about what potential investors look for in the business and what systems and structures they need to have in place nowdays to be ready for the future. Participants also have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas and receive feedback from Walid.
