When Dubai won the bid to host Expo 2020 nearly a decade ago, we took on an exciting, ambitious and long-term challenge: to deliver one of the most sustainable World Expos in history. Doing so has been a journey of small, thoughtful plans, monumental architectural undertakings, inspiring conversations with innovators from across the globe and building partnerships with businesses in Dubai. At its heart, every facet of Expo 2020 Dubai has been designed to live up to three goals: to integrate Sustainability into all aspects from design and construction to event operations and its legacy life as District 2020; to ensure that Expo embraces the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Dubai, the UAE and beyond; and to inspire visitors from across the world to become passionate changemakers for a sustainable future.
